Churchill - Greatest Things Carving

GTI-WC007-6-OC

ABOUT THIS CARVING

Full Inscription: All the greatest things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: Freedom; Justice; Honour; Duty; Mercy; Hope. - Churchill

Origins:  Among the great orators of all time, Winston Churchill opened one of many famous speeches with this great thought. It was in the aftermath of World War II, and he was calling for a "United Europe" to address the vast need for reconciliation and reconstruction. To carve this piece, no other letterform could be more suitable than what we used: Times New Roman. This famous typeface was in use by the London newspaper The Times from 1932 to 1972. This period spans virtually all of Churchill's two terms as British Prime Minister and was the classic typeface in which Londoners became most accustomed to reading his numerous speeches during that period.
