ABOUT THIS CARVING

Full Inscription: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. - Luke 2:14

Origins: We have friends who have this piece displayed on their mantle. It was placed there for the holidays a couple of years back — and there it remains to this day. That was exactly our hope.

Our mission was to create a carving of this familiar Bible verse from the holidays, but make it suitable for everyday use. Yes, there is a bit of a nod to Christmas with a holly design detail in the first letter, but it is subtle.

Of course, the lettering decision was easy. We knew immediately that a letterform based on Gutenberg’s 42-line Bible of 1452 was the only correct choice. We hope you’ll agree!
