ABOUT THIS CARVING
Full Inscription: Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. - Emerson
Origins: The distinctive letterform used for this carving was inspired by one found in a circa 1900 Boston type catalog and it works superbly with Emerson’s upbeat message. However, it is interesting to note his flanking sentences. While they are a bit more sobering, they nonetheless reinforce the importance of each day - and hour. Here they are:
“One of the illusions is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. No man has learned anything rightly until he knows that every day is Doomsday.”
We say, just truly take to heart his positive thought from our carving and the rest will follow!
