ABOUT THIS CARVING
Full Inscription: Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing. - A. Lincoln
Origins: Lincoln's sentiment comes from a letter of encouragement he penned to an aspiring student in 1855, but is an indication of his deep belief in the great opportunity presented by the still young American republic - a principle he will reiterate in later years during his tenure as the President.
We used an old Roman stone carving lettering style appropriate to Lincoln's timeless sentiment and which was found carved in public buildings of his time. We hope you'll agree; his statement is certainly worthy of being "carved in stone" and is as relevant today as it was in 1855.
This carving is only available in solid quartersawn white oak, the state tree of Illinois, the "Land of Lincoln."
